Every appointment is a commitment — from both sides. This policy exists to protect your investment and honor the time, preparation, and travel that goes into every session.
Retainer Requirement
All appointments require a retainer at the time of booking. Your payment confirms your date, time, and service — and reserves our undivided artistry exclusively for you.
Cancellations by Client
We understand that life happens. Cancellations are handled on the following schedule:
48+ hours before appointment: Full credit issued toward a future booking. No cash refunds.
24–47 hours before appointment: 50% credit issued toward a future booking.
Less than 24 hours before appointment: No credit or refund. Payment is forfeited in full.
Same-day cancellations: No credit or refund. Payment is forfeited in full.
No cash refunds are issued under any circumstance.
Credits are valid for 90 days from the date of cancellation and are non-transferable.
All cancellations must be submitted via email to info@kiakhameleon.com.
Cancellations communicated via text or social media will not be honored until confirmed by email.
No-shows
A no-show is defined as a client who is unreachable or unavailable at the scheduled appointment time without prior cancellation.
No-shows forfeit 100% of their payment. No credit, reschedule, or refund will be issued. Future bookings from clients with a prior no-show may require a non-refundable rebooking retainer at our discretion.
Late Starts
Service times are approximate and never rushed — late starts impact the integrity of every appointment. Please be ready at your scheduled time.
A grace period of up to 20 minutes may be granted at our discretion. Start times beyond 20 minutes without prior communication may be treated as a no-show. Service may be shortened to protect the quality and timing of the session.
No partial refund is issued for time lost due to late starts.
Your Time in The Chair
This time is yours — set aside fully for your service and your transformation. To protect the precision and flow of the work, we kindly ask that the appointment remain free of interruptions.
This includes online obligations. We understand the temptation to use this time to catch up on work, calls, or screens — but braiding requires a still head, an even posture, and your presence in the moment. Typing, video calls, and constant repositioning to face a screen interrupt the rhythm of the work and can affect the integrity of your final result. There is no expectation — and no obligation — to be online or available during your session. Consider this your permission to be unreachable. Let the world wait. This is your time to simply sit, settle, and be cared for.
Cancellations by Kia Khameleon
In the rare event that we must cancel or reschedule your appointment, you will be notified as soon as possible. You will be offered a full reschedule at no additional cost. If a reschedule cannot be accommodated, a full refund will be issued within 1–3 business days.
This is the only circumstance under which a refund is issued.
Hair & Preparation Requirements
To protect your appointment and your investment, please review the following requirements before booking:
Natural hair must be a minimum of three (3) inches in length.
Hair must be fully intact — no significant breakage, thinning patches, or active scalp conditions that would prevent safe braiding.
Hair should be freshly shampooed, conditioned, detangled (left damp under a wet cap), and ready to be blown dry by us, prior to your appointment.
Important Notice
If we arrive and your hair and space does not meet preparation requirements, the appointment may be delayed, shortened, or cancelled at our discretion. In this case, your payment will not be refunded. Please prepare accordingly.
Service Satisfaction
Our commitment to precision means every client that leaves our chair has been held to The Kia Khameleon Standard. However, braiding results are influenced by hair health, texture, length, and preparation — factors outside of our control.
Concerns about your service must be raised before we depart your location. Concerns submitted after the appointment has concluded and we have left will not qualify for any adjustment or credit.
Stylistic preferences (size, pattern, part placement) should be clearly communicated at the start of your session.
Kia Khameleon is not responsible for any allergic reactions or adverse responses to braiding hair or products used during your service.
No refunds are issued on the basis of subjective preference after a service has been completed.
Product Returns
Product purchases made through affiliate or collab links are subject to the return policy of the respective retailer.
Kia Khameleon does not process product returns or exchanges directly. For product concerns, please contact the retailer at point of purchase.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
A chargeback is a formal dispute filed with your bank or card issuer to reverse a payment.
By booking, you agree that all payments are governed exclusively by this policy and that any concern will be resolved directly with us — not through your financial institution.
By submitting payment, you acknowledge and accept the cancellation, no-show, late-start, preparation, and satisfaction terms outlined herein. Filing a chargeback for a charge that is valid under these terms — including forfeited retainers, no-shows, late cancellations, or subjective dissatisfaction after a completed service — constitutes a breach of this agreement and is considered a fraudulent dispute.
In the event of a chargeback, Kia Khameleon reserves the right to:
Contest the dispute in full, submitting your signed Booking Agreement, booking record, payment confirmation, and all related communications as evidence.
Recover the original amount in full, plus any chargeback fees, administrative costs, and collection or legal costs incurred.
Permanently refuse all future bookings and remove you from our client roster.
Refer the matter to a collections agency or pursue recovery through small claims or other legal remedy at our discretion.
Concerns must always be raised directly and in writing to info@kiakhameleon.com before any dispute is filed. We are committed to resolving legitimate issues fairly — but disputes filed in violation of this policy will be defended without exception.
Policy Updates
This policy is subject to change at any time. The most current version will always be available at kiakhameleon.com. Continued booking constitutes acceptance of the current policy in full.
